Facebook Ads: The dos and don’ts
There are so many elements to Facebook Ads, that it is easy to make a mistake without even realising. The Advert Manager in Facebook is set up so the process is as easy as possible for you to create ads, but this doesn’t necessarily equate to effective ads every time.
Take a look at my list of Facebook Ads dos and don’ts!
Include a call to action
It might seem like an obvious one, but it’s also something people miss quite often. Tell your audience what you want them to do with once they have finished reading your Facebook ads. Do you want them to click to your website? Purchase something? Leave their details? Let them know!
Choose creative that stands out
Remember that people’s newsfeeds are filled with images and videos already. What are you going to do to make your stand out? Try to find something that will appeal to your audience.
Tailor your message to your audience
When you are writing your Facebook ad, remember who you are speaking to. Teenagers communicate in a different way to retired couples. Think about who you are speaking to and the kind of language they will understand and respond to
Bombard people with too much information
The more complicated and complex your messaging is, the more likely it is that people will get bored or disinterested. Give people only the information they need to complete your objective, in a clear and concise way.
Forget to check and proof read
There is nothing worse than sending out an ad filled with spelling errors or broken links. Check, check and check again!
Use an image with more than 20% text
Images with more than 20% text used to be rejected by Facebook – no exceptions. However, this rule has now changed and ads with 20% text are now approved BUT your reach and results will be restricted. This means your cost per result will be considerably higher than if you used and image with under 20% text.
